Taipei 101
Taipei 101, with a mass of shops on the lower floors, incorporate many top brands under the LVMH group, such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Celine, etc. The fourth floor houses the Page One bookstore from Singapore, with the highest-roofed coffee house in Taipei and many fine restaurants.
National Palace Museum
The National Palace Museum holds the world’s largest and finest collection of Chinese art, which includes painting, calligraphy, statuary, bronzes, ceramics, jade and religious objects. This historical range of items hold a significant history as it ranges over multiple dynasties and even back to the Neolithic times.
Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall
Known as the most prominent historical landmark in Taiwan, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall was opened in 1980 to commemorate Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China. Besides the main hall, the large complex includes the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park, National Concert Hall, and the National Theater, where visitors can enjoy the world-class performances and exhibitions.
Lungshan Temple
The Lungshan Temple was built in 1738 by settlers from Fujian as a gathering place for Chinese settler. As a masterpiece of traditional Chinese architecture and a historical Buddhist temple in Taipei, the Lungshan Temple has become not only a center of people's religious life but a heritage of local culture.
Maokong is most known for its quaint village. Tea enthusiasts will enjoy coming to Maokong for its wide variety of teahouses and high quality selection of tea leaves. Remember to ride the Maokong Gondola as it is one of the best ways to ascend to the top while being greeted with breathtaking, scenic views of Taipei City.
Jiu Fen
This small town was a relatively isolated village until the discovery of gold during the Japanese Colonial Era. Most of the residences here are perfectly preserved, reflecting the Japanese architectural influence on the culture and life on this small city. Beside the old-time delights, its local foods also make Jiufen a thriving tourist resort that attracts visitors from all over the world.
